Computer-Based
Training (CBT) / Web-Based Training (WBT) are
becoming the preferred methods for delivering
training in many organizations. Praxis has developed
countless hours of CBT and WBT for our clients,
artfully combining text, sound, graphics, simulation,
and interactive exercises into a powerful training
environment.

At
Praxis we believe that transferring information
is not enough. For computer based training to
be effective, the trainee must apply newly-gained
knowledge. This is why we take great care to
build practice exercises and simulation into
our training programs. With our competency based
testing, specific "relearn sequences"
can be launched to address specific student
deficiencies - reducing the time students spend
reviewing material they already know. Three-dimensional
models and animation show students how equipment
operates in a cut-away view, saving thousands
of words and hours of time as the internal mechanisms
become obvious.
The advantages of CBT include reduced training
time, lower instructor costs, increased learning
retention, far greater training consistency,
optionally individualized instruction, as well
as important administrative advantages, namely,
anytime - anywhere scheduling and automated
training administration. Many of our clients
find that the advantages of these last two benefits
completely pay for the training program in a
matter of months.
By leveraging the Web, training can be delivered
anywhere - no CD ROM to distribute, install,
or upgrade, and greatly simplified record keeping.
Additionally,
some of our Simulation Based Training (SBT)
tools have been used for:
Pre-employment assessment
Knowledge assessment for internal employees
Honing and refining skills
Emergency preparedness training via simulation
of critical situations

E-Learning
has become the preferred method of training in many organizations.
Numerous studies have shown that in comparison with typical
classroom training:
Up
to 70% more course material can be covered in the same
amount of time.
More material is remembered - after 10 weeks, 50% more
instructional material is retained.
Learning is more consistent, since the computer presents
the course material in exactly the same way each time.
There are also big administrative cost savings:
Flexible scheduling means each trainee can take training
in his or her spare time - overtime, substitution, and
lost opportunity costs are eliminated.
Registration, trainee tracking, and other administrative
tasks are completely automated -saving virtually all of
the cost of administration.
Training can be delivered anywhere in the world over the
web, saving travel, travel time, and lodging costs. If
"face-to-face" time is required, video conferencing
sessions can also be scheduled.

Simulators

Praxis
is devoted to the ideal of learning through doing.
Our training simulators include scripted
training exercises. We harness the power of computers
to generate carefully crafted virtual experiences,
each devoted to teaching a specific lesson in the
best possible way. |
