Mathematical models are constructed from collected
DCS data or built from first-principles engineering
analysis.

Communication
Studies have found that faulty communication causes as
many process incidents as control errors. PraxisSim requires
operators to communicate correctly with a variety of “virtual
people” (outside operators, shift supervisors, etc).
Rare events such as emergency shutdowns can be practiced
without risk to personnel or equipment. Straight-forward
actions can be practiced away from the production area.
For incoming employees, the aptitude for a specific job
can be measured during training, before they start operating
machinery.
